Phillies Quit Their Day Jobs!

But only for one day!  Jamie Moyer and several of his team mates and a few local celebs used their off day Monday June 21st to partake in a “Celebrity Waiters” event at the Diamond Club at Citizens Bank Park.  I was there to shoot it for WPHL.  Aside from the fact that the Diamond Club is a very “unfriendly confine” when it comes to my camera and lenses, I had a really great time.  And it’s a great thing that they do.  All the Phillies that took place were awesome, as were the alum like Larry Anderson and Greg Luzinski.

In a nut shell the players don waiter gear and serve the crowd wine and appetizers in the Diamond Club.  The proceed from the event benefit “Camp Erin” a charity dedicated to bereaved children.   Lots of Phillies were there.  Including fan favorites Ryan Howard, Shane Victorino, Chase Utley, Cole Hammels and of course Jamie Moyer.  They all seemed to really enjoy it, but especially Shane.  He just has a really great attitude that comes through very readily.  My favorite shot of him is sitting in the seats of Citizens Bank park getting the fan’s perspective.  And that is totally what he was doing.  He said something to the effect, “Let me sit here for a sec and let me see what it is like…”   Easily one of my favorite Phils which probably shows in the galleries.  The entire gallery is linked below.

My favorite non-Phil at the event was Vince Papale.  He goes back to my childhood days when my Dad knew him.  He was and is a great guy.
