Christmas came early for some local children thanks to fans who donated thousands of new and gently used toys at the Phillies Ballgirls Christmas in July via the Toy Drive at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies Ballgirls and the Phanatic personally delivered toys to children who attended the Police Athletic Center at 631 Snyder Ave, Philadelphia, PA.
I was there, braving the heat to get these shots. It was a really nice day, the kids loved it, the parents loved it, and the Police that work the Police Athletic League were awesome. To be sure, this is a section of Philadelphia that looked like it could really benefit from the Phillies generosity. That is one thing I can’t stress enough about photo shoots like this one and the habitat for humanity shoot, the Phillies pick very needy neighborhoods. Are they photo-ops? Of course they are or the media would not be there, but make no mistake, the Phillies and the Phillies ballgirls pick very needy neighborhoods, do actual work, and it’s more than just photos.
